Old wood with history – newly staged
If walls could tell stories – this project in a historic building in Rattenberg brings the past into the present with a fine sense for material and form.
Two solid staircases made of original, hand-planed reclaimed wood connect the floors in a stylish way – complete with matching wooden railing and LED lighting with motion sensor for added comfort.
Great care was also taken with the gallery, the structural beams, and the round window: existing materials were reused, custom-made additions were crafted, and combined with modern elements such as glass and light.
Even the technical details are elegantly hidden – for example behind a custom-made unit for the heating control, which blends into the overall look like a piece of furniture.
A true one-of-a-kind that lets you feel tradition and craftsmanship in every fiber.
